Why Choose Staining Over Tinting?
We recommend staining timber floors immediately after all the appropriate sanding has taken place. Proper staining of a timber floor enhances its natural beauty and graining and should last for many years. We can also guarantee that any limed floor we complete will not turn yellow. Tinting, on the other hand, is the process whereby colour is added to the second and sometimes third coat. On the whole, it is an unsatisfactory process, resulting in a floor that looks like it has a coloured plastic sheet over it. This technique also has a reputation for wearing out quickly.
